Lab Director: Chris Winstead
The LEFT Lab at USU conducts research focused on error correction and related areas of machine learning, automated inference, detection and classification. We take an applied approach that emphasizes co-design across the layers that traditionally separate algorithm analysis from hardware implementation. Our work has application in data communication and networks (wireless and wired), storage technologies (solid-state memories and other media), reliable circuits and systems comprised of faulty components, stochastic computation and signal processing (including logic-based design in genetic and biochemical networks), hardware security, and cyber physical system security.
