In this paper "A survey on channel coding techniques for 5G wireless networks" they have mentioned the Issues addressed by different researchers and future directions in Channel Coding field (section 4) and applications (section 6). Research challenges faced in the implementation of these techniques in terms of encoding or decoding, error floor, security, cycles impact on decoding, security and energy efficiency.
I can look in that section in details and some viable references for our proposal. May be I can look into such papers 2,3,4.
I don't know if the journals where they are published are good enough or not but from these paper we can get other references and future directions for our proposal.

A novel block triple-diagonal (BTD) parity structure with all nodes of degree three is proposed for quasi-cyclic (QC) low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. The BTD structure without low node degree can effectively
improve the error floor performance and, meanwhile,
enable low complexity encoding.
